Blessed with a tranquil environment, fresh air and serene surroundings, Inle Lake, which is located in the heart of the Shan Hills in Myanmar, is the perfect place to visit if you need a little ‘me time’ or a holiday with your loved one. The best time to visit Inle Lake is between October and February as the weather isn’t too hot or wet and to avoid the possibility of a flood. To get to Inle, you can take a local flight from Yangon or Mandalay to Heho airport, which takes about an hour, and continue the journey by bus or hired car for about 45 minutes. Another option is to get on the overnight bus from Yangon to Inle. While Wi-fiis readily available here, try your best to get off your phone to soak in the beauty of nature as much as possible so that you can have a relaxing time without worrying too much about what’s going on back home!
