SB - What’s the meaning of Misterpiro? It’s origin, birth?

MP - When I started with graffiti, around 2006, I came up with the name Piro, but I would never have imagined how far I would get with it. Later on, when I started to get known and began defining my own style I added “Mister” to my first nickname, creating a sort of “alterego” character. But let’s be clear, Misterpiro is all together, never “Mr.Piro”.

SB - Was Art something you studied or was it developed in your own time?

MP - I have been painting and drawing as far back as I can remember. Maybe it all began when I started to enjoy graffiti, but I never imagined how far it would take me. When I was a child I used to go to painting lessons and then I specialized in Fine Arts in High School. At that time the practical classes because didn’t motivate me enough. Maybe that’s why I decided to look for an alternative once I finished High School and started my Degree in Design in Madrid. But I have to say that I didn’t enjoyed that either, I hate computer screens. Maybe from whom I learned the most is from my friends, who are also artists and their motivation is the same as mine, they are my life mates.

SB - When did you become involved in the street art culture? What attracted you to it?
