It has been quite a literal journey for actor Lesley-Ann Brandt—she was born in Cape Town, South Africa, spent her teenage years in New Zealand, and is currently living in Los Angeles, US. And it was sometime while she was going through a quarter-life crisis that she found her calling. “I was born in 1981 during the apartheid-era of South Africa, so acting wasn’t really a career option for me then. I have always been an animated person, a clown, really! But I had never imagined that I could actually do this for a living. I moved to New Zealand and at 25, took a leap of faith to quit my job and pursue my passion for acting. Even though I had no formal training!” she says.
