On the eve of the 20th anniversary of her death, explosive recordings of Princess Diana have been uncovered. In the never-beforeheard tapes, Diana reveals the true extent of her sad and lonely life at the palace.

The shocking tapes were recorded in 1991 as the princess, then aged 30, shared her story with biographer Andrew Morton, who went on to release her autobiography, Diana: Her True Story.

She made him promise not to reveal she was his source, but with the book set for re-release 26 years on, the transcripts of her heartfelt confessions and the sad and sorry state of her marriage to Prince Charles are finally being shared with the world.

As Woman’s Day revealed earlier this month, Charles’ second wife Camilla has been considering her options when it comes to her 12-year marriage to the future king – particularly under the strain of Diana’s upcoming anniversary.

We’re told the public scrutiny of her behaviour and the constant revisiting of her affair with Charles is placing an untold strain on her marriage.

Now, our palace insider says the ramifications of these new revelations are hitting home – hard. For years she’s struggled to find her place and be accepted among the royals. And Diana’s confessions, though they come 20 years after her untimely death in a Paris car crash, may be the final straw.

In addition to what has been previously revealed – about her eating disorder, her confession that she threw herself down the stairs while pregnant with Prince William and her despair over Charles’ affair with Camilla Parker Bowles – Diana has now exposed more terrible truths about her life in the palace from beyond the grave.
