Hunting A Monster
TV & Satellite Week
|June 10,2017
Siobhan Finneran and Laura Fraser play detectives hunting a serial killer in a small Loch Ness community.
The stunning scenery of the Scottish Highlands is the evocative setting for ITV’s haunting new six-part crime drama, The Loch, in which a seemingly idyllic rural community is terrorised by a serial killer.
And just as no one knows what lies beneath the waters of nearby Loch Ness, the inhabitants of the town of Lochnefoy don’t know if one of their own is a murderer.
‘The location is a big part of the show,’ says Laura Fraser, who leads the cast as DS Annie Redford. ‘What sets this drama apart is the terrifying thought that a cold-blooded serial killer could be from the community. The monster lurking beneath the surface could be living next door.’

The nightmare begins when the body of a local man is found and a post mortem reveals that he was murdered – and that a sliver of his brain was removed. Meanwhile, the case takes another macabre turn when a human heart washes up on the shores of Loch Ness.

By Order of the Peaky Blinders, this is a must-watch for devotees of the Birmingham gangster saga. Now the show becomes a movie for its final chapter, and what a violent and thunderous farewell it is.
