Hollywood gadfly and goad for more than three decades, Spike Lee is at his provocative best with this gob-smacking true story about the early-1970s black undercover cop who infiltrated the Ku Klux Klan.

John David Washington, son of Denzel Washington (star of Lee’s 1990s films Mo’ Better Blues and Malcolm X) plays the officer, Ron Stallworth, whose first groundbreaking achievement is to become in 1973 the first African American to join the Colorado Springs Police Department.
