PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 6

Crushing news for the world’s rum suppliers. Disney are preparing to retool the tired-looking Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise – and that means consigning Johnny Depp’s turn as lurching, smokey-eyed brigand Captain Jack Sparrow to the sunless depths. He’s also developing a sequel to

ALTERED STATES

Essentially Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde if it'd been written by Carlos Castenada, Ken Russell's characteristically unrestrained take on a script by Network's Paddy Chayefsky is a bracing mix of acid trip visuals and hoary old tropes.
