Floyd’s Record Shop Is Back
Once Louisiana’s longest tenured record retailer, Ville Platte’s legendary Fioyd’s Record Shop is now Louisiana’s newest music retailer. Say what? Its true, mes amis. Floyd’s original shop opened in 1956 on East Main Street. While the store and record wholesaling business thrived for decades, after three years of rapidly declining business, the shop was shuttered in December of 2012 and the building was sold.
