Appreciating the opportunity to stop and smell the roses
As the world seemed to fall apart, I sat on my back porch more often last summer and admired the beautiful colours of flowers in our garden along with the many different species of birds.
It was a crazy few months. No summer trips planned, too afraid of socializing much, and even my favourite shopping trips were less frequent. I do, however, feel very fortunate that my family and I are healthy and have nothing to complain about. As hot as it was last summer, everything seemed to bloom bigger and better than previous years.
