Traditional skills combine with the latest technology to create quality bespoke furniture that would light up any room. Martin Pilkington visits Carl Josef Interiors

Ahead Of The Curve

SINCE husband and wife team Joseph and Caroline Hanson formed Carl Josef Interiors 35 years ago their premises in Poultonle-Fylde have expanded greatly, they’ve added an additional showroom in Garstang and the technology their designers and craftsmen use has changed enormously. But the design flair that is at the heart of their business has been a constant since day one.

Enter the company’s main showroom in Poulton and you’re immediately struck by the clean lines of their bespoke designs, and the contrasting styles they offer. Traditional sits beside contemporary, sensuously curved units next to sharply stylish angled elements, whether they’re enhancing a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom or indeed any other room.

‘Curved work in greater variety than you’ll see elsewhere is one of the things that sets us apart,’ explains Caroline. ‘It’s great to have that option in our designers’ repertoire. Some rooms cry out for curves; others for straight lines.’
