2018 WILL witness the celebration and commemoration of some important milestones in the history of British women. I still find it remarkable that women (over the age of 30) were only granted the right to vote and stand as a member of parliament 100 years ago. The tenacity, courage and principles of the suffragettes and suffragists resulted in the long overdue acknowledgement that women had as much right to participate in the democratic process of Great Britain as their male counterparts.
