“We Can Organize Events For You End-To-end”

In one on one with PC Quest, Pradeep Mannakkara Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Cvent, explains the dynamics of the company’s functioning
Can you elaborate on the genesis of CEvent?
We are one of the largest in the non-government based tech companies space and we’re part of Vista Equity Partners. We were founded in 1999 by Reggie Aggarwal. SalesForce started around 99 as well with the same kind of concept. The company went through I would say some pretty amazing journeys of sort of ups and down. It started growing in double digit and then went for IPO in 2013. The company went public in the US and then in 2016, we got acquired by Vista Equity Partners. We are now part of the fourth largest software company I believe in the world; they also have Marketo, Ping Identity in their portfolio. We are the number one company in the event management space. Vista actually owned the number two company in this space and they couldn’t beat us so they did the next best thing which was to see if they could acquire us and put us together; and they did and given the wealth of the experience right, a lot of it is the people. We still have a lot of the original founder, co-founders of the company and a lot of the senior management team.
What overall, is Cvent currently in terms of the LOBs and the functioning, how is it structured and how is it operating and then map it to the Indian context in terms of … is India only sort of a delivery model or do you look at India itself as a market?
