Your device can present the right widgets at the right time at the top of a Smart Stack

Apple has brought a long-overdue revamp to its mobile devices in the form of iOS 14. For the first time, you no longer have to put up with overflowing apps and countless sheets to flick through just to find the app you want – everything can be stored in the App Library instead. And if you fancy having the latest weather and news stories greet you when you unlock your phone, you can thanks to the introduction of widgets.

But you do not have to stop with plain old widgets – Apple has added more depth in the form of Smart Stacks. These work a bit like widget folders, with each Smart Stack containing multiple widgets that you can scroll through until you find the one you need. Even better, your device can present the right widgets at the right time at the top of a Smart Stack, based on your usage habits throughout the day. It is a great way to save space on your Home screen without losing functionality.

Beyond the basics
