The majority of casual, touch-based games on iPhone need no assistance - you simply tap and/or swipe. But for 3D shooters, or driving and flying games, the sheer number and location of on-screen controls can make precise control difficult, hence accessories like this one.

The X2 Lightning is a gamepad that securely holds your iPhone between its two spring-loaded halves with buttons, a joystick, and four-way cursor control on the left; plus another joystick and additional buttons on the right. At the top are pleasingly clicky L1, L2, R1, and R2 shoulder buttons. The X2 Lightning comes with a main Lightning port to connect your iPhone, from which it draws a minimal amount of power. Plus, there's a Lighting port on the bottom of the pad for iPhone charging.
