He knows how to make an entrance. On May 4, Tom Cruise arrived at the world premiere of Top Gun: Maverick via helicopter, expertly landing it on the deck of the USS Midway in San Diego. Swoons ensued as he stepped out of the chopper in sunglasses (of course) and a beautifully tailored suit, flashing his trademark smile. But while his costars, including his leading lady, Jennifer Connelly, and his on-screen son, Miles Teller, both had their spouses on their arms, Tom didn't bring a date.

It's been that way for a decade. “Tom is one of the biggest stars in the entire world, and can probably have any woman he wants, but he insists on being alone," an insider tells In Touch. “He finally told friends, 'I haven't had a date in 10 years. The reason? a In the summer of 2012, Tom - who's about to turn 60- had his heart shattered into a million pieces when Katie Holmes blindsided him with divorce papers. "She broke his heart, so he's avoided romance ever since. Behind that big, bright smile is someone who's very lonely."
