She’s famous for her voice, but Adele made headlines for a different reason last week when she showed off her slimmed-down figure. After a brief social media hiatus, the singer caused a stir when she posted a photo of herself looking fit, trim, and fabulous while iso-celebrating her 32nd birthday on May 5.

Many of her famous followers took notice. “I mean, are you kidding me?” model Chrissy Teigen commented, while Rita Wilson wished her a happy birthday and wrote: “Looking gorgeous!”

At press time, Adele’s post had more than 10.9 million likes, but among the more than 228,000 comments were snide remarks about the motivation behind the slim down, with some trolls hinting Adele was pressured to fit a music industry stereotype and others sceptical she could have lost so much weight healthily.
