THE REAL REASONS SHE HAD TO LEAVE - AND THE BITTER FIGHT FOR THEIR $3 BILLION FORTUNE
KIM QUITS KANYE

They’ve had their share of ups and downs. But through it all, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have presented a united front, remaining by one another’s side – until now.

This week as split rumours swirled, it was announced Kim has high-powered divorce attorney Laura Wasser on a retainer arrangement to work through a planned divorce from her multi-award-winning musician husband.

According to multiple sources, Wasser, 52 – who represented actor Johnny Depp in his messy divorce from wife Amber Heard, as well as aiding Anna Faris in her separation from actor Chris Pratt – has been nutting out separation arrangements ahead of an official divorce announcement, expected imminently.

Kim, ever the micromanager, was left on the backfoot when news of her plans leaked to media outlets this week. “Kim wants the divorce settlement finalised before formally filing,” a source tells Us Weekly. “Settlement talks are ongoing. Kim wants to control the PR campaign of the divorce and she was blindsided by leaks about the divorce.”

Through the birth of their four children, Kanye’s well-documented battles with mental health (he suffers from bipolar disorder), an armed robbery in Paris that saw Kim held hostage, even Kanye’s unlikely tilt at the US presidency, the couple had each other’s backs. So how did it go so spectacularly wrong?

The situation is complicated, but boils down to the fact the pair – who have been married for almost seven years and share North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 2, and 20-month-old Psalm – are now living separate lives. They also have such divergent beliefs that their differences have become “irreconcilable”.
