Reading a book is fun, but seeing your fave character in the flesh and blood is way better. And Showmax is full of books turned-TV shows to keep you entertained!

There’s so much more fun to be had watching your favourite literary characters when their adventures are onscreen. Sure there are differences between books and the TV adaptations, but that just adds to the action when streaming on Showmax. Here are shows that started off as books that you can stream right now…

BOSCH (SEASONS 1-6)

Author Michael Connelly’s books The Concrete Blonde (1994), City Of Bones (2002) and Echo Park (2006) get mashed into a hit first season as LAPD detective Hieronymus Bosch (Titus Welliver) takes on a new case. He’s by the books… so when he does bend the law, he’s doing it for a good reason. He’s an Afghanistan war veteran and his brain works very differently from the Average Joe. So while everyone from bank robbers to drug lords think they’ve got one up on Harry, the opposite is true and he’s waiting for them to walk into his trap. The other 17 Bosch books that Michael wrote make up the rest of the seasons – there are seven in total so far.

SHARP OBJECTS (SEASON 1)
