It was a lonely holiday season for Duchess Meghan without mom Doria Ragland to help her deck the halls and trim the tree, considering Prince Harry’s new mother-in-law was reportedly left off the guest list for Christmas at Buckingham Palace. And with pregnant Meghan’s emotions at an all-time high, sources tell Star the newly wed Duchess of Sussex would love nothing more than to rid herself of her endless royal duties and reclaim the sweet and simple life she left behind.

“Meghan thought she knew what she was getting herself into,” dishes our well-placed palace insider, “but she never could have predicted just how much everything would change.”

A KINGDOM OF ISOLATION

Seven months ago, the 37-year-old was surrounded by friends and family on what seemed to be the happiest day of her life, when she tied the knot with Harry, 34, at Windsor Castle. But now that the dust has settled, whistle-blowers titter that the fairy-tale life Meghan envisioned for herself has morphed into a never-ending nightmare — with absolutely no one left to turn to.

Not only was Meghan forced to skip out on her best friend Priyanka Chopra’s recent wedding to Nick Jonas in India (even though the Quantico star, 36, stood by the duchess on her special day), but according to Star’s sources, Meghan’s 62-yearold mother also remains excluded from her royal existence.
