I’m in my 30s and in a causal relationship at the moment. While I have dated over the years and even had sex a few times, I’ve never been able to relax, be intimate and really enjoy being with someone. A lot of this boils down to my father who had a lot of issues with my mother while I was growing up. He would have extreme mood swings and would sometimes sit me down and tell me about his sex life. It has scared me to a point where I can’t be fully intimate with a man. I am seeing a therapist to deal with the emotional baggage, but do you have any suggestions on how I can relax and allow myself to truly connect with someone?
