Living through seven years in this industry, JACQUELINE FERNANDEZ, may have taken her own sweet time to find her feet here. But when she finally set a firm footing, she made sure to straight away accelerate to the sky. Carefully going through the Blown alleys and choosing her allies, the actress has played the game to stardom with sheer intelligence. In a candid conversation with Nawaz Kochra, the lady talks about her friendships, showbiz and pushing her limits as an actor. 

What kind of films do you like?

It depends on what kind of day I am going through. There are times when I only want to watch films that make me feel better, and there are times when I really want to watch films that I can learn from. There are days when I want to watch stories that are hard-hitting and move me. I love fantasy, so that is something I always like watching. Anything like sci-fi, may be something that has amazing costumes or is 3D.

Any character-driven roles coming your way?

You make a film, you do a story which has people performing in it. A film is a film, and if the film might amuse me, I would make a choice. It’s really quite simple.

You seem to be a fitness freak. Would you undergo any drastic physical transformation for a role?

If that is physically demanding of the role and if I am in good hands, and have the most unbeatable director asking me to do that, then absolutely yes. But if I am going into unknown territories and with a director I know nothing about, I wouldn’t. When you undergo something like that, you need to be portrayed really well. A good director can help you with that, but if you don’t have that kind of support system, and if you are on your own doing it, there is a large risk of your efforts going waste.

How does Bollywood change a person?
