Unfinished Love Story

Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess who fell in love with the prince. They spent some time in love but didn’t live together happily ever after. This is quite the occurance with many star-crossed love birds in Bollywood too. In B’town, many celebrity couples are splitting for a number of reasons. Though actors and actresses are experimenting with roles and characters that stretch them beyond themselves, towards better performances, and even excel in them, they are still not seeing the same kind of success when it comes to sustaining relationships with their loved ones. Yes, there are many factors that come into play and claim relationships as casualties. The last year has not been easy nor lucky for some duos, whether in marriage or in love. Richa Chadha & Franck Gastambide

I t is believed that long-distance relationships often don’t work, and that was also partly the case with Richa Chadha and her boyfriend, French actor-director Franck Gastambide. Richa, who recently played an outstanding role in the film Masaan, broke up with her pardesi balma, who she had met only recently. Their love story began at the Cannes Festival in May, 2015. She even learnt French for better communication with Franck, in the time they were together. But it was a classic case of two talented people caught up in their blossoming careers, unable to put time aside for a growing relationship. Richa tried her best to take time out for her beau, from her busy schedule, but with more films in her kitty that she was shooting for like Sarbjit and Cabaret, time was at a premium for her, and they hardly got to meet each other. Franck too was tied up with his assignments. Considering that their relationship seemed to be heading nowhere simply because of a total lack of time, a crucial ingredient in budding romances, they decided to part ways and call it quits. Their split was genuine. Both weren’t comfortable with the long-distance relationship. Things were not working between them. So that brought their story to a hasty end.
