The Baby Tearing Them Apart!

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen aren’t known for blending bling or sparkle into their minimalist fashion line The Row, but they made an exception at the recent New York Fashion Week.

The designers gifted guests at their February 12 show goody bags with some special rocks inside – not jewellery, but palm-size gemstones of white quartz symbolising “universal harmony”, and black tourmaline to “repel and block negative energies”.

But the seemingly inseparable twins, 31, could use a little crystal power themselves these days. Sources say that MaryKate and her husband of two years, French financier Olivier Sarkozy, are ready to start a family – but instead of sharing her sister’s baby joy, Ashley is fuming with jealousy.

“They’ve been at each other’s throats and fighting over the littlest things ever since MaryKate broke the news to Ashley that she and Olivier are trying for a baby,” spills an insider. “They put up a good front at the fashion show, but behind the scenes it was a nightmare. Ashley is absolutely furious!”

Dashed dreams

As it turns out, Mary-Kate may have already conceived. Spotted outside a West Hollywood restaurant on January 3, the petite star sported what appeared to be a baby bump under her bulky oversized sweater.
