8 DAYS: You’re the host of Celebrity Car Wars, a reality show where six personalities learn to drive fast and furious.
BOBBY TONELLI: I’ve hosted a and Allan Wu. couple of Mediacorp shows, but never a show this size. It didn’t hit me until I walked onto the set in Manila. There were lots of cameras and cars parked in the front, and I was like, (whistles) “Okay, this is big. This is very big.” I also got a camera drone flying around me (laughs). That threw me off for a bit. When you are being filmed by a camera crane and a huge crew is looking at you, you’re thinking, “Oh, don’t screw up your lines.” I did mostly dramas previously, and reality TV is a whole different beast. When you’re on a big production like this, you learn a lot about spontaneity. It’s about being in the moment. When something happens, you have to respond to it.
A lot can happen especially when you’re dealing with six celebs. That’s a lot of egos to handle.
