At the northernmost point of the Hawaiian archipelago, one finds the "Garden Isle" of Kauai. Kauai is unbridled landscape, with unique flora and fauna, and lush green mountains and valleys-the magnificence and awesomeness of the forces of nature. Kauai and its north coast is the inspiration behind the newest writing instrument from U.S. artisan pen brand Kanilea Pen Co., and like the island, the new Kanilea Lewa Lani is unlike anything Karol and Hugh Scher have thus far produced.
Each Kanilea writing instrument is inspired by the nature and culture of Hawaii, but more specifically, the colors and textures of each Kanilea pen are inspired by a photograph that the Scher's snapped on one of their many trips to the Hawaiian Islands. That inspirational photo provides the backbone of Kanilea's marketing strategy and is included in the packaging so that customers can enjoy and feel the meaning behind each pen.
Prior inspirational photos show the morning clouds in Haleakala crater for the Kanilea Aolani fountain pen; the delicate white blossoms and ripe red beans of Kona coffee trees for the Kona Snow and Kona Cherry writing instruments; and the translucent green waters mimicked in the Manta writing instrument.
The photo that inspired the new Kanilea Lewa Lani writing instruments collection is different in form. While the prior inspirational photos are grounded in the tangible elements of Maui, Oahu, and the Big Island, the new Lewa Lani is the first Kanilea pen inspired by the verdant island of Kauai.
