How will POWERGRID benefit from renewable energy?

Renewable energy, especially wind and solar, will provide benefit to the nation as whole in terms of sustainability and energy security. At the same time, it will help in national development. In this direction, POWERGRID is facilitating integration of renewable energy, which is intermittent and variable in nature so that seamless flow of power can occur across the country while maintaining grid stability.

Where do you see POWERGRID’s role in the clean energy drive?

POWERGRID’s activities are non-polluting in nature and their environmental impacts are negligible. Key initiatives taken by POWERGRID towards clean energy drive are technological initiatives for conservation of precious Right of Way (ROW), renewable integration, rain water harvesting system, which is now an integral part of every new substation design, installation of LED bulbs, solar lights, etc.
