JACOB PETER, SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AT BOSCH GLOBAL SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGIES IDENTITY IN CONVERSATION WITH MANUFACTURING TODAY ABOUT CAPABILITIES, COMPETENCIES, AND PIVOTAL ROLE IN PRODUCT ENGINEERING AT BOSCH

THE BUSINESS ECOSYSTEM HAS WITNESSED a significant evolution in the last two decades with the increasing convergence of domains. Businesses have transformed digitally to remain relevant and capture new-age opportunities, and software has been a crucial enabler and driving force of this transformation. Today, software is embedded in systems of all kinds: transportation, medical, telecommunications, military, industrial, and entertainment, and is the engine that drives business decisions and modern lifestyles.
Bosch Global Software Technologies (BGSW) reflects the enhancements in its identity, capabilities, competencies, and pivotal role in product engineering at Bosch. The company is using software to solve the most challenging problems. For example, connecting machines, tools, and sensors on the shop floor using AIoT gives engineers and managers much-needed visibility into production. Organisations can use this level of visibility to identify bottlenecks, find the root cause of problems, and improve operational efficiency faster.
Jacob Peter, Senior Vice President at BGSW in an interview with MT shares how software engineering is shaping the automotive sector.
The automotive industry is in the midst of a fundamental tech-led transformation wave. The tango between tech and auto companies is picking up pace. Could you share how Bosch Global Software Technologies is transforming this sector?
