Velvet Carpets Meet With Digital Printing

Having a wide range of product variety from cotton velvets to digitally printed products Basoglu adds value to the carpet sector. Recognized with its velvet carpets the company has attained a respectful place in the sector with its years of experience, painstaking works and high targets. We spoke with General Manager Servet Basoglu about their success story. He said they concentrated more in export markets with its Liberta and Ledeyna brands.

How did your company enter in the sector from shuttled looms?

I had started in a tailor’s shop as an apprentice during my childhood in 1969 when my family has moved to Istanbul.

I worked as a maintenance master in carpet weaving factory on shuttled looms. Then I got promoted to operation chief position in a famous factory than I transferred to a couple of other companies firt at Epengle Upholstery Fabric Factory in 1989 and later at Vefateks in 1994 and promoted up to the position of production planning chief. Then I worked as procurement manager in Marmara Mensucat and in 2007 got a job in Aydin Tekstil where I served as Operations chief and weaving director for five years. Then I founded my own company to trade my years of experiences in the sector, two years ago.
