New models of backhoe loaders are making their way into the Indian market
Those not in the know may be confused about the role of a backhoe loader. The versatile equipment is a ready machine for cities and densely populated areas and for long has been an important machine for fleet owners. However, the pandemic has played spoilsport to many plans across the globe and most manufacturing companies are now preparing for a bounce back. The government’s focus on infrastructure development and the trillion dollar plans is now making it relatively easy for construction equipment manufacturers to build on capacity and also bring out new models. There’s also a diktat from the government to bring out newer and upgraded models that have BSIV-compliant engines, enabling engineering interventions to reduce operating costs, and even look at alternate fuels. With newer companies bagging roads and highways construction contracts, newer infrastructure companies are emerging and they make for prospective buyers.
They are also expanding their customer base and offering enhanced support and services in a bid to strengthen brand recall amongst existing and potential customers.
In this story, we will look at some of the innovative equipment that companies have launched so as to be prepared when the market opens.
Sorab Agarwal, executive director, ACE, believes that the government’s push for infrastructure development is what is needed for economic growth. The government has allotted significant investments for infrastructure development and most of this should translate into demand for construction equipment, especially backhoes.
