Murphy Rocks
CEO India|February 2018

Murphy’s Law is simple: if things can go wrong, it definitely will.

Murphy Rocks

If Murphy has taught me one thing, it’s to prepare for the worst. Murphy worked when the Titanic hit the iceberg. Murphy worked when Kodak missed the opportunity of digital transformation, even though they invented the first digital camera. Murphy continuously seems to be working in so many strong marriages and indestructible business like Nokia. In short, when things go wrong, just blame MURPHY. Think about it, we all love world peace, so why are countries constantly at war?

When Murphy plays such an important role in our lives, why is it that we’re oblivious to its power? I believe, Murphy (or dealing with failure) should be a part of our ‘teaching’ curriculum irrespective of ages. We should actually start making Murphy a part of our lives since childhood. That is why experts believe that we should not stop a child who’s going to fall his or her head. Because, if you stop that child from falling, the child will actually start walking six months later! If you stop him from touching fire and burn his hands, he will never know what fire is! Just like that, if you shout at a child who has just failed in five subjects in an exam, after that education for that particular child will be just a system to prove himself. The actual enjoyment of studies will be long gone. I believe all those youngsters, who commit suicide, don’t know how to handle Mr Murphy at all! They should think about the worst that could happen and start preparing according to that. Only when they will start thinking the negative, positive will start happening for them!
