Her affinity with mellifluous fabrics and lush textures traces back to her childhood. Designing from scratch since her youth eventually paved the way for the launch of her label in the early 2000s. In a candid tête-à-tête with us, she tells us about her latest collection, her bridal couture sensibilities, and why actor Malavika Mohanan is her ideal muse.

WHEN DID YOUR LOVE AFFAIR WITH FASHION START?

I crushed upon fashion at a rather young age. Having had access to fabrics and tailors, I always tried to design clothes inspired by the confident, well-dressed women around me. To give my passion a headstart, I designed flared culottes and knotted tops that were trending back in the ’90s in all possible prints, and created a collection of pantsuits in my father’s factory.
