Benelli, Malossi and Pirelli come together to set six land speed records on the Bonneville Salt Flats

For all those who scoff at the thought of scooters only being capable of handling practical duties, Benelli has set six new land speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats, some of them shaming motorcycles as well.
Benelli tied up with fellow Italian firms Malossi and Pirelli to help them prepare and secure the records. Malossi is a small outfit based out of Bologna, known for its inspiration kits on 50-100cc scooters.
The record was set on a Benelli 491 which was ridden by engineer Fabio Fazi who set the kilometre and mile speed records aboard a 50cc scooter at 114.823kmph and 114.737kmph.
