One of the most celebrated Aston Martin DB4GT Zagatos – ‘2 VEV’ – will be offered on the open market for the first time in nearly half a century at Bonhams’ Goodwood Festival of Speed fixture on 13 July.
Bonhams’ official statement puts the pre-sale estimate at over £10m but the auction house will surely be hoping for closer to £17.5m, targeting the record price paid for a British car at auction.
Even among the exclusive production run of just 19 cars, the Zagato is a rare example: it’s one of only three configured to ultra-light DP209 spec, and one of just two campaigned with factory support.
