Embarking on a cross-country electric odyssey has long been on my automotive bucket list, and the perfect occasion presented itself with a friend’s wedding in Bengaluru. Departing from my usual choice of a diesel SUV, I opted for the Audi Q8 Sportback e-tron—an electrifying departure from the mundane.

This enhanced version surpasses its predecessor, the initial e-tron SUV, in every aspect. Audi swiftly revamped its flagship EV, transforming it into a bona fide long-distance electric tourer. What gives it this credibility is a ground clearance of a proper SUV and the biggest electric battery pack money can buy today. Boasting a real-world driving range of approximately 420 kilometers, planning the journey became a breeze. Notably, Audi’s pièce de résistance lies in offering two body styles—the Sportback, a visual spectacle that turns heads and garners admiration.
