Dakar Dreams

TVS Racing has been living that dream in their fourth consecutive year participating in the mighty Dakar Rally. Abhik Das got a taste of the incredible rally machinery and a chance to catch up with the riders

As journalists, it was more than a dream to be riding 450cc rally machines. The lack of commercial viability outside motorsport means that we can only aspire to be aboard these machines. Thus naturally, when TVS decided to loan us their RTR 450s with free tuitions from the massively skilled Dakar riders, we didn’t have to think twice before jumping on the opportunity. So, we not only got to day dream about being a rally raider but also sniffed the exhaust fumes from the top dog Dakar machine, the TVS Sherco Racing RTR450.
