New age automotive plastics have altered the composition of car interiors. They have lent both an aesthetic and a functional streak. From altering driver cockpits at the lower end of the spectrum to redefining luxury at the upper end of the spectrum. The new age compositions have played the role of a catalyst in helping Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) bring the perceived primemium to the entry level models and scale newer heights at the premium end of the market. That the entry level segment is witnessing a shift to the higher and more powerful segment only adds to the growth opportunities for the plastic suppliers. Automotive plastics are extending to Connected Autonomous Shared and Electric (CASE) aspirations both on the supply and demand side. Companies like BASF, Stahl, Spark Minda, Motherson are among the tier1 suppliers catering to this demand. There are ample SMEs playing their part too.
