rod BUILDING

When you build hot rods for a living, there is bound to be a string of previous projects of your own amongst the many cars built, especially when you have been at it for as long as Greg “Curly” Hardcastle. His latest project is, however, a divergence from the full-on hot-rodding projects of the past, according to Greg, this one is almost a restoration. There was influence here from the Model A celebrations held at Gulgong in 2018 too, that got Greg’s juices flowing for a car that would fit the genre typical of many of the entries for that highly successful event.

Starting with a registered, complete car that was a bit rough around the edges, Greg decided early on that the body would remain stock and he even painted it inappropriate Chickle Drab and Coppera Drab in keeping with the very early hot-rodded Model A theme.
