The Story Of Luna Hope

October/November 2019

On the 19th of April 2016, we received a call from a family member about a six-week-old Pit Bull puppy that was going to be euthanised if someone didn’t come to her rescue.

The Story Of Luna Hope

I immediately phoned my husband and told him about her. Sobbing about this little girl that needed our help, we rushed to the animal clinic to find this small orange puppy that was too scared to even look at us.

The staff at the clinic told us her horrific story – she’d been kicked in her face, ribs and legs. Her teeth were broken in half, two ribs were cracked, and her left back leg had been broken in places. Her previous owner had taken her to the vet to get her leg bandaged initially, but they didn’t take her for X-rays to see the extent of the break and to get it treated.

These cruel people left her without medical attention for weeks. Her leg developed gangrene that began to poison the rest of her body, turning her orange. After being told by the vet that her leg needed to be amputated for her to survive, they wanted her euthanised as they no longer had any use for her. We were shocked at how this poor puppy had been treated.
