INCLUSIVE COMMUNION
The Eucharist and the mission of the Church are inseparable. Mission without the Eucharist is weakened to death while the Eucharist that does not lead to mission becomes empty and pure ritualism. In the Eucharist, it is Jesus who calls us to the table. There, we are forgiven, nourished with the Word and His sacramental presence. It is there, too, where we are commissioned to go forth and extend that experience of communion with God to all those who cross our paths. The communion among the believers who gather around the Table of the Lord is never exclusive. It has to be understood and lived as a true mission of compassion and solidarity with those who have not yet come to the Table.
In our fragmented world, we believe that the Eucharist empowers us to build bonds of fraternity beyond faith, ethnicity, status or any other form of division, for God wants His people to be one! This mission should not be seen as a call to proselytize but rather to engage in respectful dialogue that creates communion beyond our differences.
