SUV’s makes perfect sense for our forsaken roads. They give you the sense of freedom and adventure that is usually associated with motorcycles. The thrill of navigating through a rough off road terrain is unparalleled and evokes a sense of achievement unlike any other. Much to our delight, this month rained an onslaught of new SUVs to make up for this ‘SUV Special’ issue.

We had a go on three new SUVs – Tata Safari Storme, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra Quanto. The Safari Storme is a vehicle that looks imposing, has the brawn to bully the traffic and will get you across the worst unimaginable terrains. But the other two vehicles are a bit different concept. Since most hardcore off-road vehicles are infamous for their heavy drinking habits, this led to the birth of crossover SUVs. The Ford EcoSport and Mahindra Quanto are thus the latest in this new segment of compact crossover SUVs. Both vehicles not only offer the feeling of driving an SUV, but promises to give you fuel economy like a hatchback. Go figure your choice of wheels!
