Commuters Stranded as Petrol Price Skyrockets to N1000 Per Litre Amid Scarcity"

Commuters were left stranded yesterday as filling stations hiked the price of petrol to N1000 per litre, amidst a severe scarcity of the product. The sudden price increase caused widespread chaos and confusion, with many motorists queuing for hours to buy fuel.

The price hike was attributed to the federal government's clandestine increase in the pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS), which was done without prior notice to the public. The government's action was widely criticized by Nigerians, who expressed their outrage and frustration on social media.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) also condemned the government's action, describing it as a "betrayal" of the trust of Nigerian workers. The NLC president, Comrade Joe Ajaero, accused the government of being consistent in its betrayal of the people and demanded an immediate reversal of the fuel price hike.
