സ്നേഹനിധിയായ ഒരമ്മ റോഡരികിലുള്ള അവരുടെ വീടിന്റെ ഒരു കുഞ്ഞു മുറി എനിക്കു തന്ന് തയ്യൽപ്പണി ആരംഭിക്കാൻ പറഞ്ഞു. രണ്ടാം ക്ലാസിൽ പഠിക്കുന്ന മൂത്ത കുട്ടിയെ സ്കൂളിൽ വിട്ടിട്ട് ഇളയ കുഞ്ഞുമായി ഞാൻ കടയിൽ വന്നുതുടങ്ങി. അങ്ങനെ കുട്ടിയുമായിരുന്നു തയ്ക്കുന്നതു കണ്ട് സഹതാപം തോന്നി നല്ലവരായ നാട്ടുകാർ ഭക്ഷണവും വസ്ത്രവും ഒക്കെ തന്നു സഹായിച്ചു. വഴിമുട്ടിയ ജീവിതത്തിന് ആശ്വാസവും പുതിയ തുടക്കവുമായി.
