योगासन का उद्देश्य है 'स्वस्थ तन और प्रसन्न मन ।' इनका नित्य अभ्यास करने पर शरीर का प्रत्येक अंग स्वस्थ होता है और साधक प्रसन्नचित्त होता है। प्रस्तुत आलेख में दो प्रमुख आसनों यथा; पादहस्तासन और शीर्षासन का वर्णन किया जा रहा है। पादहस्तासन जहाँ मेरुदण्ड की जड़ता को कम करते हुए उसे नवचेतना प्रदान करता है, तो वहीं वह हृदय की धड़कन को सामान्य करता है और मनोरोगों में भी लाभप्रद होता है। जहाँ तक शीर्षासन का प्रश्न है, तो वह मस्तिष्क एवं तंत्रिका तंत्र से सम्बन्धित रोगों में अत्यन्त लाभकारी है।
