In the June issue of Digital India, we have extensively covered NAB Show 2017, the premier exhibition and conference in the broadcasting industry. The coverage includes a post-show story, interviews with key participants, and product showcase. According to the preliminary information shared by the event organisers, the total registered attendees this year stood at 103,443, of which 26,714 were global attendees. 1,02,513 people attended the 2016 NAB Show, and 26,781 comprised international participants. While people want to inspect and learn about the latest products at these events, a key reason they are a part of them is to meet and greet their peers, partners and customers. Where else can they network with them under a roof during the course of a week? That is the other big lure of trade shows, the primary still being business. This issue also carries our interview of Rajneesh Mittal, CTO of Zee, who talks about the attributes he looks for while hiring people in his team. While there are people skilled in IT or media, the need of the hour, Mittal says, is finding technically inclined people who can converge media and IT technologies. The 'Vitually Here' story in the technology section is another interesting article lined up this time. The story takes a closer look at virtualisation as a technology for broadcasters and has views of many preeminent vendors on its pros and cons.
