Welcome to our bumper sized 2024 Scania special! The June issue of Truck & Driver is packed with ‘Super’ Scanias from retro classics to the very latest models, from small to large, rigid and articulated.
Editor’s Choice is an unusual Scania R530 V8 drawbar outfit which is as striking as it is versatile. Progressing through the issue, we take the new 13-litre flagship 560S and put it to the test for a week. There’s also some unique 420S rigids on full air at Hinks Transport, a million mile 124 at Mason Brothers, some classic-shape R-series Toplines hard at work at Skinners Transport and a tough as nails 164 from Ireland which has had a recent restoration. That’s just some of the epic Scania content!
We’ve also turned the spotlight on a fleet of magnificent MAN TGX at Lynx Transport, checked out the latest Volvo FH 500s at Blakemans and travelled all the way to Chile to see a whole new world of trucks. There’s also an extra large Team T&D where Cameron shows off his new Actros, Russell goes on an Italian trip in his Iveco S-Way 530 and Paul heads to Spain in a Scania 590S.
Peter Davies has put together a huge feature looking at the smaller end of the Scania range too, from the little 80s and 93s through to modern day P and G cabs. It’ll take you a while to get through this one, enjoy!
