After the scorching summer we’ve had, I’m hoping the glorious weather will stay with us as the season shifts towards autumn this month. But even if we’re blessed with an Indian summer, there’s no getting away from the fact that it’s going to get chillier sooner or later. So it’s time to start thinking about making your home cosier for the months ahead and we’ve got plenty of ideas to inspire you. In his Home Hacks this month (p.66), Hugh looks at clever ways to draughtproof your home, while over on page 64 our Craft Editor Sophie has designed a gorgeous easy-to-sew patchwork quilt project to help make your bed extra cosy when the chill sets in. As the days start to get shorter, we’ll all be spending more time indoors, so this month George Clarke discusses ways to help reduce noise in the home, whether it’s from noisy neighbours or the kids playing loud music (p.111).
