La imagen que ilustra la portada de Cambio16, obra de la fotógrafa y educadora estadounidense Norma I. Quintana (Cleveland, Ohio, 1954), especializada en documentalismo social, refleja un detalle de los restos carbonizados –utensilios domésticos, enseres y recuerdos de toda una vida– que pudo rescatar aún humeantes del fuego que devoró su hogar en California un aciago y triste domingo de 2017. El día que comprendió amargamente que el vínculo entre cambio climático e incendios forestales es inextricable.

Al igual que los fósiles o las huellas de un animal primitivo desaparecido, los restos arqueológicos que se pueden hallar en cualquier yacimiento donde se lleva a cabo una prospección y que evidencian cómo fueron nuestros ancestros y qué huella dejaron en el planeta, los objetos que forman parte de la colección Forage from Fire, venerados como si encerrasen en su ruina algo sagrado, se erigen en los vestigios de una civilización extinta.

Cambio16 currently consolidates its modernization process as a means of independent, truthful and objective communication, edited by Grupo EIG Multimedia S.L., a company established under Spanish law.
