Britain's queen of rom-coms reveals why she had to revisit an old story for her new novel...

After a three-year hiatus, international bestselling author and screenwriter Jojo Moyes is back with her novel Someone Else's Shoes, a fun rom-com based around two polar opposite middle-aged women who swap lives. The 53-yearold tells Woman's Day why she took a break from writing and why this book helped her come out of a particularly dark time.

The book was inspired by a short story you wrote a few years ago that people have often asked for follow-ups to. What made you want to return to this story?

I had a particularly tough few years - along with most of the world and I found I wanted to watch and read stories that were uplifting and fun, rather than anything too dark. I was thinking about that short story and suddenly realised that I could write something fun and zippy.
