Viagogo accused of failing to root out touts on its platform

Viagogo has been accused of failing to prevent "misleading and potentially unlawful" practices by the anti-touting campaign group FanFair Alliance.
The warning comes despite ticket resale platforms facing intense scrutiny as the government consults on new anti-touting laws. Labour's election manifesto pledged to tackle touts using websites such as Viagogo and StubHub to charge huge mark-ups for in-demand events and shows.
Ministers are weighing plans that could include a cap of 10% above ticket face value, significantly threatening resale platforms, which make a commission on every ticket sold.
Despite the risk of a regulatory backlash, listings on Viagogo suggest the company failed to prevent practices that music industry groups said offer "damning evidence" to support new anti-touting laws.
