Unspeakable vandalism: Anger as trees are butchered at famous beauty spot

CHRIS Packham joined the outcry over the felling of trees beside Windermere in the Lake District.

Residents have blasted it as an "act of unspeakable vandalism" against the popular beauty spot.
Unconfirmed reports say a private landowner may be to blame. Images of the felling, like the loss of the "Sycamore Gap" tree on Hadrian's Wall, went viral, prompting TV naturalist Chris, below, to say: "Growing trees is not easy.
